A Letter From Us!
If you are here, something probably brought you!
Maybe a question.
Maybe a quiet worry.
Maybe a memory of being twelve and feeling completely lost.
Maybe your daughter is looking at you and asking something you don’t quite know how to answer.
We know that feeling because we lived it.
Before this was a business, it was text messages all day between two strangers. Jamie and I met through the endometriosis community and we instantly connected. We didn’t stay strangers for long! We were two women who could not stop thinking about the girls we once were. The confusion and embarrassment when we got our period. The anxiety of asking questions and when we did, the doctors told us to toughen up, put a heating pad on, it was just part of growing up.
It was like we were the same person. Conversations about what it was like to sit in discomfort and not have the language to explain it wishing someone would just sit down and say,
Here is what is happening.
Here is what is normal.
Here is when to speak up.
Here is how to trust yourself.
Our friendship grew quickly and our ADHD brains were spinning. I threw it out there and asked Jaime “ Would you want to start a business with me?” her answer is pretty obvious!
We started talking about how even today, girls are still being dismissed, medically gaslit and their pain is normalized. Parents who are trying their best but were never given a roadmap themselves and how often girls learn to doubt their own bodies before they even learn how to understand them.
We decided to create something the both of us wish we had when we were growing up. That is the real reason behind this work.
THE GIRLS ROOM PROJECT WAS BORN
We believe girls deserve to grow up with clarity instead of confusion.
With confidence instead of second guessing.
With language instead of silence.
We believe that when a girl understands what is happening inside her body, something powerful shifts. She stops assuming she is dramatic. She stops shrinking her questions. She stops apologizing for what she feels. She begins to trust herself.
And when a parent feels equipped instead of unsure, the entire dynamic changes. Conversations feel steadier. Support feels stronger. Fear softens into guidance.
Our vision is simple but deeply important to us. We want girls to grow up believing their bodies are wise, not inconvenient. We want them to recognize early when something needs attention. We want them to speak up without shame. We want them to walk into appointments, classrooms, and friendships knowing they are allowed to take up space.
THE GIRLS ROOM PROJECT was not built out of trend or convenience. It was built out of conviction.
We believe girls should not grow up guessing about their bodies.
We believe parents deserve better guidance.
We believe knowledge should feel empowering, not overwhelming.
We believe compassion and accuracy can live in the same room.
Most of all, we believe no girl should feel alone in what she is experiencing. This is personal for us and we refuse to let the next generation grow up without it.
You are part of something that is about so much more than a website. It is about changing the way girls understand themselves and the way families support them.
This is the heart behind everything we are building.
With love,
Callie and Jaime
